Tell us briefly about your qualifications and why you are running.

I am a fourth-generation son of Portuguese lineage. I have worked, socialized, invested, supported the community, and I am raising children in New Bedford.

This is not a novelty for me — this is my home, and I am dedicated to improving all areas that need attention and assistance.

My focus is the people of this great city. I will strategize, problem-solve, and address the needs of the taxpayers. Some areas of focus will be public safety; protecting the interests of small-business owners; attracting new business and more jobs; developing better relations with established industries; being a voice for the people; and supporting education funding and extracurricular activities for all children.

It is going to be crucial, in the coming months, to guide our city out of this pandemic. Developing strategies and networking with all resources to recover and move forward is the key to success.

Working with the city’s fiscal department and navigating the city budget will be paramount.

I look forward to gaining your trust and having your support on Nov. 2!
